In 2000, Comfortex designed, tested and introduced the Landing Strip floor cushion. It proved to have an ability to minimize impact forces to protect patients from bedside injury should a fall occur. Thousands of Landing Strips, now serve residents and healthcare providers across the nation.
Recent testing done by the TUV/NTS, Detroit Division, further illustrates the designs superiority over much thicker and more cumbersome pads.
The Testing Laboratory dropped a 16 lb. weight from heights of 12’’, 18” and 24”. Testing measured G-forces generated upon impact and the products ability to de-accelerate the falling object gradually vs. suddenly.
(example : a falling object attached to a bungy cord de-accelerates over a greater time span vs. an object suddenly stopped by a non-flexible cable).
